12C-Lite App Reviews

Why default to landscape mode on startup ?

It was much better before, when it started in portrait mode !

Trop de bruit / Soudn is back

With this new update, the sound is back... Its quite a shame to buy it @ 1.59€ and get a noisy calculator... It should be free !!

Hp12c

Excelent, very good. HP12C works fine. Good software.

Programming now (2.0) disabled ??

There is a note to version 2.0 saying it is now PROGRAMMING DISABLED. Why should anyone then upgrade to this (now paid) version ?

Great calculator

I would recomend this app, which is very cheap and usefull. The 12C lite works fine and allows me to use a business calculator anywhere I need. I think i wll never need my HP12C again...

Excellent!

Why HP did not an app like this...?? Great app for a reasonable price!

Great, Specially for free

Well it works pretty good, Now that is once you get to know how to use it, However once you get it its pretty straight foward. For Beginners, this a business calc, so for 12 divided by 8 You have to do 12+8 and then the dividing sign,

Would gladly pay a few dollars for a full version

Lovers of the Voyageur series of HP calculators (such as the 11C, 12C, 15C, and 16C) already know that RLM produces excellent desktop based emulators of all of these calculators. A lifetime subscription to RLM software can be purchased very economically, though it seems unlikely that this such a subscription will apply to AppStore downloads given the special arrangements developers must make with Apple to get their work posted here. The good news is that we know that RLM has source code for calculators other than the 12C, and hopefully we will soon see iPhone versions of the others, particularly the cult-favourite 15C (I paid almost 400 bucks for a near mint one--they are that beloved by collectors!) As for the 12c Lite, the only "flaw" in it is that it IS a Lite version, and at the moment a fully appointed paid version is not available. The lack of persistent, continuous memory is really a drawback, especially if, like me, you like to write programs. The same concern applies to cashflow problems--if you want to keep data in the CF registers between instances, you are out of luck. That said, the interface is beautiful to behold, and for those used to typing accurately on the iPhone QWERTY keyboard the smallish keypad will not be any hardship. 12c Lite seems to use the iPhone CPU, which means that complex calculations and programs run faster than on the original calculator. I encourage all lovers of HP calculators to download this fine app and support its further development by purchasing the full version when it comes out. Also, please write Mr. Matte to encourage a release of the other Voyageur emulators. I know I have! Edit in Reply to BabeBooth: I do admit that the built in landscape mode calculator is very good, offering double precision display and some excellent extended functions. However, comparing the 12c emulator to this is apples and oranges. 12c lite emulates a classic HP programmable financial calculator that uses Reverse Polish Notation as its entry system. This system involves a four line stack to hold intermediate results that is well known and loved by lifelong HP users. The built-in iPhone calculator is a scientific calculator, uses algebraic entry, and is not programmable. They are totally different things, and calculator and calculator simulator aficianados readily see this. I have no problem with your opinion, but in this case you facts are just plain wrong. The calculator buff loses nothing by trying out this free download.

The real deal

Totally the same as the real hp12c. Great freeware.

Excellent

Absolutely excellent, waiting for the paid version. Software this good is worth every penny.

Upside down

With the iPad Pro and keyboard attached - -the entire app is upside down??

Aggravating App!!!

I am glad I didn’t pay for their upgraded version, this app doesn’t respond properly to the touch screen of the iphone.

Disappointed

This is an update to my previous review. I had given it 5-stars b/c it was free and I knew that some bugs (keys not responding) would be fixed. Well, they fixed the key issue but added the status bar. When does a person need to know how many “bars” they have or is in desperate need of the time while doing bond calculations??!!! In the latest update, they fixed the “Welcome Screen” but now the button issue is back. Once again, the buttons do not respond well to the touch. The status bar is still there and why don’t they put the website logo in the 12c logo are instead of taking more calculator room??!! On top of the button issue, they are now charging $1.99 for the lite version. I would give this a 1-star but I did get it for free and it does what expected but I still do not like the idea that this no longer has the “calculator” feel to it as well as the continual button issue. Fix these problems and I’ll buy the full version. Until then, I will wait for other applications to capitalize on these issues.

2.0 fixed the button touch issue

A beautiful app once more now that the buttons response has been restored. A must have for 12c RPN addicts.

Great App. Need Better Logo.

This is a great app. Very usable after the update. It would be even better if the logo is more like the real calculator.

Great product, great price!

Dont pay attention to the bad reviews complaining about the icon and logo... It was changed months ago and it tons better. The key response issue was fixed, and this calculator is a great buy if you only need the limited functions (such as NPV). An Algebra function would have been nice, but Im not really complaining for only $2. Compare this to the $20 version from another developer that has slightly more features.

Visible status bar?!?

Nice app, but displaying the status bar in the wrong orientation is just, well, wrong. Maybe it fixes the problem the previous version had with the leftmost 20 pixels not responding, but it is NOT the proper "fix" IMO.

Yep- its good

Simply outstanding. Just like the ones from 20 years ago.

Not reliable

If you already have the app try this: PV - 50,000 n - 1825 PMT - -31 And solve for i. Your regular fin calc will yield .0138% which is the correct answer. This app gives you .2%.

Nice but ...

Graphics are beautiful - except for ugly logo and icon Distasteful load screen - honestly this one alone will keep me from using it on a regular basis. Buttons difficult to push. I would have sent this information directly to creator without leaving a rating but couldnt find email address.
